Common Types of Cancer

 

Cancer can affect anyone, with breast cancer being one of the most common cancers affecting women for decades. Specific to men, is Prostate Cancer.

 

Cancer is a type of disease that occurs when there is some abnormal growth of the body's cells, which spreads to other tissue and organs. These rapidly growing cells may cause tumors and they can also disrupt the body’s regular function.

 

While there is an alphabet variety of cancers, we must not consider it a death sentence. It's disheartneing and challenging, but as human beings we must focus on love, because love can conquer anything.

Colon Cancer

 

Colon cancer develops from polyps (growths) in your colon’s inner lining. Today's medical services have screening tests and treatments that detect and remove precancerous polyps. If untreated, colon cancer may spread to other areas of your body. 

Lung Cancer

 

Easily avoidable, refrain from smoking, as this is a major conributor. In addition, exposure to substances such as asbestos also creates problems

Thyroid Cancer

 

Thyroid cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the thyroid gland. While Thyroid nodules are common, they are not always cancerous.

Pancreatic Cancer

 

Pancreatic cancer is cancer that forms in the cells of the pancreas.  The Pancreas is an organ in your abdomen that lies behind the lower part of your stomach. Your pancreas releases enzymes that aid digestion and produces hormones such as insulin, which helps to manage you blood sugar.

Lymphoma - Non-Hodgkin Cancer

 

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (also known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, NHL) is a cancer that starts in white blood cells called lymphocytes, which are part of the body’s immune system.

Skin Cancer

 

This is  the abnormal growth of skin cells, which most often develops on skin exposed to the sun. However, this common form of cancer can also occur on areas of your skin not ordinarily exposed to sunlight. There are three major types of skin cancer — basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanom
